Budget rentals offer a way out. But what exactly does this entail?  <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<h2><b>1. What is budget hiring?<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With budget rents, you get a discount from Living in Flanders on the market rent. The discount amounts to at least 15 percent. You must meet the conditions.  <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can budget rent pending social housing. Who is budget hiring for?<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Want to budget rent? How do I apply for an attestation?<\/h2>\n<h3><b>Step 1: Request an attestation from Living in Flanders<\/b><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fill out the online form the <a href=\"https:\/\/formulieren-wonen.vlaanderen.be\/#\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Forms Counter of Living in Flanders<\/a>. You fill out a form online with all the necessary documents. <\/span><\/li>\n<li>The application is free of charge. Has your application been denied? Then you can reapply for free.  <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Step 2: Receive approval or denial of your application<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You will receive a digital response within 15 business days. If your application is incomplete, you will have another 1 month to correct it. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Upon approval, you will receive an attestation from Living in Flanders. This attestation is valid for 12 months. <\/span><\/li>\n<li>If refused, you can appeal within 15 calendar days after you received the refusal. Wonen in Vlaanderen will then give its decision within 60 calendar days. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><b>Step 3: Find a property through the Housing Portal<\/b><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Find a suitable home within certain housing types (obvv the number of bedrooms) through the <a href=\"https:\/\/budgethuren.vlaanderen.be\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Housing Portal<\/a>. Indicate your interest in certain housing projects. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Each project is open for at least 2 weeks. Once this deadline has passed, the Flanders Housing Agency reviews all applicants. <\/span><\/li>\n<li>You may apply for several housing types and multiple projects.<\/li>\n<li>Choose a home that is not too small for your family size.<\/li>\n<li>Some municipalities give priority to candidates with local ties. That means you have lived there continuously for at least 5 years in the past 10 years. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Step 4: Ranking by Living in Flanders.<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Living in Flanders ranks all candidates who have a valid attestation.<\/li>\n<li>The ranking is completely random and does not depend on your profile or when you applied. Thus, everyone has an equal chance. <\/li>\n<li>The landlord is required to rent the property to the candidate with the lowest rank number.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Step 5: Accept or refuse<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>As a candidate, you may refuse the offer.
